It is as shown in the culture. It is a thick dress but not super thick.. average fancy dress thick. No elasticity so choose ur size wisely or go up for safety. I would say though it is comfortable (will hold you in and top heavy friendly). washability I'm unsure of but I would dry clean it personally. Appearance though is pretty. Fits perfect provided you know ur measurements
